Positive: Location was excellent and was clean and friendly.
Negative: Expensive for what it is. No newspapers to read in the morning and the rooms are not sound proof as you can hear everything next door.

Positive: Lounge area very comfortable spacious & inviting. Onsite restaurant Georges very good. Great big spa tub beside 50m lap pool, not quite warm enough .
Negative: First floor accommodation in main building with no lift. No coffee machine in room

Positive: Beautiful, stylish property. Everything is on tap if you want it - from check in to check out. Staff are wonderful and seem to anticipate your every need. We included the Fire Feast in our stay as at extra cost - really nice event. So much food!
Negative: It’s all really lovely. If I had to say anything it’s that it’s very warm in the house - granted winter, but log burning fires made it quite hot. Being an historic home, the walls in rooms are not sound proofed so you do tend to hear more than you would ordinarily in a more modern hotel. It’s pricey - possibly a little over priced, but does make for a lovely treat.
Summary: Beautiful property, very relaxing.

Positive: Staff friendly. A glass of rose being offered on arrival was a nice touch. Bed was comfortable and bathroom adequate.
Negative: The room (no 23) did not feel like a 'suite' nor did the quality of the room reflect the price we paid. The walls were not adequately insulated to the point we could hear next door having a full conversation word for word over the top of the their loud television at 2.30am and the same early the next morning from the room on the other side. In addition, the bathroom sliding door has no handle so is difficult to open, no spoons provided for making tea and our room was not serviced despite fact we vacated room at 10am and did't return until 4pm. Breakfast was disappointing, the small share bowls of fruit (all unripe), granola and yoghurt and 'pastries" to start is a bizarre concept and then the offering of hot meals was basic (over-ripe avocado, uncooked sourdough and watery poached egg). When we asked if we could sit on the terrace we were told "all the heaters aren't working so its cold out there.." We seated ourselves outside anyway and then waited for approx. 15mins for menus, water, coffee order to be taken. We didn't dine in either of the restaurants as felt that both menus were restrictive and overpriced for the offering and felt our money was better spent supporting other local Southern Highlands venues. We returned to the hotel after local dinner on Friday night with our guests to have drinks/dessert. Upon enquiring as to what we could have as a small share dessert we were told, a tart, this was ordered and a creme caramel arrived! We also ordered mint tea for 3, two out of the 3 cups brought to us were chipped.. The parking, access via intercom every time you arrive at the property is annoying both for guests and for the staff that have to hurry to front of hotel to greet guests each time.
Summary: Perfectly adequate but definitely not worth the price paid.
